The Start Yachting course gives you a short introduction to sail cruising where you will experience steering a yacht, sail handling, ropework and awareness of safety on board. The course will provide you with a good idea what sailing is about and you’ll find out if the bug will bite you.

RYA COMPETENT CREW

If you are a complete beginner to sailing this is the course for you. We will teach you about personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship to the level required to be a useful member of the crew of a cruising yacht.

RYA/SAS DAY SKIPPER

5 days Theory - R 5 360.00 / 5 days Practical - R  5 360.00

You will learn about pilotage, navigation, seamanship and boat handling up to the standard required to skipper a small yacht (up to 24m LOA or 200 tons) safely by day in tidal waters with which you are familiar with.

The practical part of the Day Skipper course covers a comprehensive introduction to chart work, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship, and it is invaluable in that it teaches you how to start making decisions on board a yacht.

 

9 days Theory & Practical combined  -  R 9 000.00

On this Day Skipper course we combine theory & practical parts on a daily base. The course contents are the same as on the 5/5 days course (see above), at the end you will be awarded the SAS or RYA Course Completion Certificate for Day Skipper.
